ECOS: CAMPAMENTO DE VERANO DEL CLUB DE FANS DE QUEEN DE LA REPÚBLICA CHECA EN EL OBSERVATORIO DE VSETÍN  POR LUCIE HALAMÍKOVÁ

A principios del mes de junio el Club de Fans de Queen de la República Checa (Czech Queen Fan Club www.fcqueen.cz ) llevó a cabo un evento especial que llamó nuestra atención debido a genial mezcla de actividades relacionadas tanto a Queen como al Dr. Brian May , El Campamento de Verano 2012 del Club de Fans de la República Checa (The Czech Queen Summer Camp 2012), y difirió de la Convención de Queen celebrada en el mes de noviembre de cada año en este país (como recordarán la Convención en México, el Queen Fest Mexico, generalmente también se lleva a cabo a fin de año) , pues el programa incluyó la observación de  estrellas, proyecciones en  3D, degustación de algunos de los platillos preferidos de Freddie, una fogata, buenas vibras y un ambiente cordial con un invitado muy especial, ¡un gran aprecio por Queen ,y por supuesto música de ellos en vivo!,  todo ello teniendo como escenario el Observatorio de Vsetín .

Como recordarán Lucie Halamíková, originaria de la República Checa,es fan de Queen, además de pianista, compositora, integrante del grupo europeo tributo a Queen "The Diamonds" (quienes por lo general colaboran vía internet a fin de realizar sus covers), y , claro, también es miembro del Club de Fans de Queen en su país.

Quisiera compartir con ustedes lo acontecido en Vsetín... :-)

CAMPAMENTO DE VERANO DEL CLUB DE FANS DE LA REPÚBLICA CHECA (Vsetín, 8 - 10. 6.2012)

Viernes :

-

Vsetín es una región al este de la República Checa rodeada de colinas por lo que el paisaje es hermoso, tiene dos pintorescas plazas públicas , y un pequeño río. El Club de Fans de Queen de la República Checa (the Czech Queen FC - www.fcqueen.cz) decidió llevar a cabo el Campamento de Verano de Queen 2012 en el observatorio del lugar , con un gran jardín (situado junto a un cementerio).

-

Ese día el clima era muy agradable. Cuando llegamos estaba soleado y hacía calor. Una de las primeras actividades para los fans fue el poner sus tiendas de campaña en el jardín , para después reunirse en la fogata del lugar. ¡¡Nuevamente Tibor Tóth,  presidente del Club de Fans de Hungría,  llegó desde su país a Vsetín en famosa bicicleta "Montreux" !. Ese mismo día horas después llegaron otros fans húngaros.

-

Al terminar los preparativos el evento inició con una fogata en la que se asaron salchichas. Todos nos conocimos, platicamos , escuchando música de Queen... Karel Lehner , presidente del Club de Fans de Queen de la República Checa nos dio la bienvenida y comenzó la proyección de videos. Desafortunadamente poco despúes empezó a llover , así que tuvimos que entrar al observatorio , donde se dio seguimiento al programa.

-

Había dos salas donde se proyectaban videos musicales de Queen, actividad que se prolongó hasta altas horas de la noche, cuando algunos fans se formaron y juntos hicieron  su tren "real" al estilo Breakthrough... :-)

-

Sábado :

-

Los fans llegaron, y Peter Freestone (asistente personal de Freddie) también, para convivir un rato con nosotros. Almorzamos con él en un restaurante cercano.

-

Al regresar al observatorio Peter empezó a preparar la comida, para lo cual contó con la gran ayuda del chef , y fan , Tomáš Jedlička.

-

La cocina del lugar es  pequeña y sólo cuenta con los utensilios básicos , pero todo resultó bien, y aproximadamente a las 6 p.m. probamos algunos de los platillos que eran muy comunes para Freddie... :-) Como entrada nos sirvieron Mozarella Tricolore (jitomates con queso mozzarella y albahaca fresca), seguida de plato fuerte pastel de queso Cottage (Cottage Pie, carne molida de res, zanahorias, cebollas, ajo, y como Peter  dice ,"muchas cosas más" ... cubierto de  puré de papas al horno y col). Peter comenta al respecto en su libro: " Era algo sencillo y se podía comer al ver televisión. Fue una de las cosas que  Freddie podía comer el último año de su vida , pues no necesitaba masticarlo mucho;  era la época en la que estaba muy enfermo y para él pasar un bocado representaba un esfuerzo enorme, por lo que este pastel fue su amigo inseparable". De postre nos dieron ensalada de fruta fresca (fruta picada de temporada con un aderezo especial y crema fresca). ¡Todos los fans disfrutamos mucho la comida!

Posteriormente inició la proyección de material de Queen en 3D , como la edición especial del video de Innuendo y varias fotografías en 3D , en su mayoría de conciertos de 1986 , así como la versión en vivo de Celebrity con Brian, Roger y Paul Rodgers. A continuación vimos otra proyección sobre el espacio y los trabajos de reparación del telescopio Hubble. Creo que el programa fue muy interesante... sin duda a  Brian también le hubiera encantado :-)

En la tarde noche interpreté temas de Queen en mi piano. El ambiente era muy cordial y agradable , la iluminación me pareció discreta y acogedora,  y varios fans de Queen de húngaros, eslovacos y checos cantaron conmigo :-) . Toqué Going Back, In The Lap Of The Gods, My Melancholy Blues, Teo Torriatte, Is This The World We Created?, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Living On My Own, Long Away, White Queen, You Take My Breath Away, No-One But You...¡¡¡y los fans húngaros,y todos me acompañaron en Tavaszi Szél (canción típica húngara que Freddie interpretó en el concierto de Budapest en 1986)!!!

En la noche se realizó una trivia sobre Queen ¡bastante difícil! Nos divertimos mucho :-)))

Las horas transcurrieron con una buena compañía y música de Queen...el ambiente era muy relajado por lo que Tibor Tóth y Milan Šolínovic Šatník improvisaron algunos temas en la guitarra y el bongó (que pasaba de mano en mano entre los fans para que todos participaran...vean el  video adjunto).

Domingo :

Todo terminó muy bien.... después de varios días de diversión, alegría y convivencia con otros fans , nos preparamos para el regreso a casa.

THE CZECH QUEEN SUMMER CAMP 2012 REVIEWED BY LUCIE HALAMÍKOVÁ

Some days ago the Czech Queen Fan Club www.fcqueen.cz held a special event wich cought our interest due to the wonderful mixture of Queen - Dr. Brian May related activities: The Czech Queen Summer Camp 2012 (not the usual Queen Convention there in November each year; just like the Queen Convention in Mexico called Queen Fest Mexico, which is usually held by the end of every year). Stars, 3 D projections, Freddie's favourite food, a fire, great vibes, good company with a unique guest,  of course Queen music,  and too much love for Queen! all this at Vsetín Observatory.

Lucie Halamíková is a Czech Queen fan, a musician, a member of the European Queen tribute band "The Diamonds" (who usually work via internet from their different countries), and of course she is also a member of the Czech Queen Fan Club.

QUEEN SUMMER CAMP / CZECH REPUBLIC 
(Vsetín, 8 - 10. 6.2012)

Friday :

-

Vsetín is a town situated in the Eastern part of the Czech Republic. It has very nice hilly landscape around, two picturesque town squres and a small river flowing through. There is an observatory (planetarium) with a large garden (situated just next to a cemetery) where Queen Summer Camp camp (organized  by the Czech Queen FC - www.fcqueen.cz) took place.

-

The weather was very nice and hot that day. When we came it was sunny and hot. First the Queen fans built their tents in the garden and met at the fire place. Also the leader of the Hungarian Queen FC Tibor Tóth rode his famous "Montreux" bicycle from Hungary to Vsetín !!! Later that day several other Hungarian fans arrived.

-

Last preparings for the event finished and everything began with making a fire and roasting sausages. People met and talked together and Queen music played around...The leader of the Czech Queen FC Karel Lehner welcomed us and the evening video projection began. Unfortunately, it started to  rain soon  so we had to move inside into  the observatory where the programme continued.

-

There were two rooms with video projections of Queen music. This entertainment continued  into the late night when some fans made a "real" Breakthrough train together...:-)

-

Saturday :

-

Next the fans arrived and also Peter Freestone (Freddie´s personal assistant) came to spend some time with us. We went to a nearby restaurant for lunch altogether.

-

After lunch Peter began to prepare everything for evening dinner at the observatory.  He did with a great help of another cook (and fan) Tomáš Jedlička.

-

The observatory kitchen was very small and also the equipment was quite simple but everything went well and at around 6 p.m. we enjoyed dinner which Freddie ate lots of times...:-) As starter it was a Mozarella Tricolore (tomatoes with mozzarella cheese and fresh basil), as main dish it was Cottage Pie (minced beef, carrots, onions, garlic " and lots of other things" as Peter told us...with mashed and baked potatoes on it and cabbage). Peter wrote about this meal in his book : " It was an easy eat, it was a television eat. In the last year, it was something he didn´t need to masticate and when he was so sick that he found even swallowing an effort, Cottage Pie was a staunch friend." As sweet course there was a Fresh Fruit Salad (made from chopped fresh fruit of the season, poured with special prepared sirup and finished with fresh cream). All fans enjoyed it very much !

In the afternoon there was a 3D Queen projection of special edition of Innuendo video and several 3D photos mostly from 1986 live concerts and also a song Celebrity with Brian, Roger and Paul Rodgers live on stage. After this there was another projection about space and Hubble telescope repairs. This was a very interesting kind of programme... definitely Brian would love it too :-)

In the evening I played and sang Queen songs on my piano. It was a very nice and friendly atmosphere with just small lights around and Czech, Hungarian and Slovak fans singing along with me :-) I played Goin´Back, In The Laps Of The Gods, My Melancholy Blues, Teo Torriatte, Is This The World We Created?, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Living On My Own, Long Away, White Queen, You Take My Breath Away, No-One But You...and Tavaszi Szél (a traditional Hungarian song that Freddie sang live in Budapest in 1986) we sang along together with all Hungarian fans !!!

During the evening there was a competition which needed really good knowledge of Queen stuff..! We had lots of fun :-)))

-

The evening went on together with Queen music...Tibor Tóth and Milan Šolínovic Šatník began to sing together in a very free and kind atmosphere with only a guitar and bongo drums (which went round among fans for some improvisation playing..(see video above).

Sunday :

Everything  ended nice....after long days of fun, joy and meeting together, we prepared for our ways back home. We enjoyed the Camp this year, and we are looking forward to next one :-)
